Senior Software Engineer 

 

Key tasks:

 

  • Designs, estimates, implements, documents, tests and improves program code and its automated tests. Creates, develops and maintains software products and services.
  • Participates in the preparation of the squad's technical plans and the estimation of the work as a key player.
  • Reviews program code and technical plans prepared by others, identifies problems and deals with them in a constructive way. Actively participate in reviews on issues in their field.
  • Involved in research on current squad tasks (Spike).
  • Proposes research and participates as a consultant in research carried out by other squads in their area of expertise.
  • Identifies problems with the squad workflow and develops solutions together with the squad members.
  • Professional mentoring and coaching of students and new entrants.
  • Consults, comments on plans, supports tasks, defines directions for further development, takes decisions and provides training in their field.
  • Participates in the work of professional workgroups on a specific topic and in broad professional discussions.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Their work involves carrying out tasks on a wide range of scales, including the selection and discussion of appropriate procedures, methods and technologies.
  • Works independently in known areas and works on the basis of initial guidance in unfamiliar areas and developments.
  • Primarily responsible for the quality of the end result produced by the squad and for the efficient execution of squad tasks. Their work is an example to the squad members.
  • Responsible for following the professional rules, procedures and recommendations within the squad.
  • Works in close cooperation with the squad members to achieve the squad's goals, knowing the goals of the Product Unit.
  • Constructive cooperation with other experts close to their field.
  • Making technical decisions in related stories that support the quality of the whole version.

 

Expectations:

 

  • Degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent professional knowledge.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in C++ and debugging procedures.
  • Skill level in generally accepted programming principles, knowledge required to select and implement an appropriate design pattern.
  • Proficient in putting agile principles and concepts into practice within their squad. Proficient in breaking down and implementing Epics with an agile approach.
  • Skilled at understanding a code/test/system that is new to them, finding internal connections and possible contradictions.
  • Skilled at identifying, understanding and solving professional problems with confidence.
  • Ability to maintain and develop good relationships with members of a small team and with several colleagues working in different teams.
  • Ability to write and maintain well-structured, concise documentation that is understandable to internal professional audiences.
  • Ability to hold a short presentation about their work before a small group (e.g. a squad).
  • Knowledge and confidence in the development and quality assurance processes, software and tools used.
  • Skilled in making decisions that affect many aspects and many people.
  • Give their opinion with appropriate justification in words and in writing, in a way that is understandable to those with expertise in the subject.
  • Ability to find a solution acceptable to all parties in simple disputes.
  • Can develop a long-term vision for some areas of a product.
  • English language skills at B2 level or higher.
