Purpose of the Role:

To perform selected tasks related to the company’s operations, particularly those affecting cash flow and accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review incoming invoices for compliance with legal requirements and applicable financial and accounting regulations (under Hungarian GAAP and IFRS); post approved invoices.
  • Participate in monthly and annual closing processes (under Hungarian GAAP and IFRS); prepare and post journal entries related to closing; prepare and distribute required reports and statements to relevant departments.
  • Prepare and regularly maintain policies related to the chart of accounts, accounting processes, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain communication and coordination with partners and internal departments.
  • Support audit-related activities.
  • Prepare payment lists, review them, and initiate payments in banking systems; partially approve payment transactions.
  • Provide support in answering accounting and tax-related queries.
  • Participate in testing activities related to the implementation of new systems.
  • Apply tax regulations and assist with tasks related to tax audits.
  • Participate in financial audits.
  • Support the work of the Chief Accountant.

Authority and Responsibility:

  • Authorized to perform daily, routine tasks within their scope independently.
  • Must seek supervisor approval on all accounting and tax matters affecting the company.
  • Responsible for performing work accurately, diligently, and in compliance with legal and tax requirements.
  • Responsible for reporting any irregularities or unlawful practices identified during work to the supervisor.
  • Responsible for escalating any financial, tax, or accounting information that may impact the company’s operations.

Requirements:

  • Completed finance or accounting-related university degree.
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with IFRS accounting is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Business fluency in Hungarian and English; French would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently with precision and diligence.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-oriented mindset, strong communication skills, balanced and cooperative personality.
